About Us

The Garden Room is a young creative design studio founded by partners in life and design Matt and Elle Evans. Located just a stones throw from the shores of Poole Harbour and the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, we work extensively across Dorset, London and the South of England. We aspire to design memorable spaces and experiences where our affinity for luxury laidback living shines through.

 Elle graduated with a degree in Fashion Styling, working extensively as a creative stylist, she was fortunate enough to collaborate with some of the worlds most famous lifestyle fashion brands, travelling worldwide for the perfect image. After some time working freelance with a number of agencies and studios, along with a period of time living and working in France with Matt, Elle’s flair for interior and still life work developed. She has since been the Senior Interior Stylist for one of the UK’s largest luxury online retailers, Amara Living. She has worked with some of the most exclusive names in the world of luxury homeware and design, including Missoni, Tom Dixon, Ferm Living, Ralph Lauren and Broste Copenhagen to name a few. Matt specialises in Landscapes having studied with the British Academy of Garden Design. He has always had a passion for the outdoors, spending much of his childhood working with family in the garden in his native rural Essex and has in the past worked extensively in hard landscaping and site construction. Sustainability and the environment are always at the heart of Matt’s designs, and as a surfer he has a keen interest in coastal landscapes and protecting the marine environment. Matt thrives on creating inspired garden landscapes, designing spaces which form a sustainable link between architecture and terrain.
